Change userid

Hello Moderators,

I was initially "itanium" when back to itrc forums, then suddenly "itanium2".

I changed my hp passport associated email address a few minutes ago, now i am "itanium3".

Could someone please explain whats wrong ?

I'm not sure why it recently changed to 3 but if you didn't follow the directions for porting your ID to the EBC, I assume it gave you the incremented one.

I see these names:

itanium 2008-07-08

Itanium2 2004-07-08

Itanium2_1 2001-12-17

itanium3 2012-01-16

Not if that one is taken. And if you could prove ownership, you would already be using it.

I don't see why not, as long as it isn't already used and conforms to forum Terms of Use.

Phew.... I thought I was the only one...

So one can't change his/her own user ID?

"User ID" is not even the right term (we aren't talking about HP Passport user ID, we're talking about forum's profile name)?

Would it possible then to please change my profile name from it's current Alex Geroulaitis, to Alex Gerulaitis ? (no "o")

That's right, it must be blessed to make sure it follows forum guidelines.

The screen name.
