I'm not sure what forum to post this in but here goes:

I work for Legacy Health in Portland, OR and we are replacing a bunch of older Thin Clients (5740s) with new 520s (wired and wireless) and we just realized that the BIOS is not set to power on automatically after a power loss. We have already replaced like 600 of them and we have about double that left. We want to be able to change the Power On setting to 'On' but I am having trouble getting the Powershell cmdlets to work. The root\hp\instrumentedbios namespace seems to be installed on the 520s but I have not checked some of the 510s we have as well. The 510s are a little old, but we still want to use the ones we have as they are not that old. Anyway, I am the resident Powershell expert and I have not been able to figure out how to get it to make the BIOS changes using WMI. I also know that BCU is an option but I can't figure out how to get a BIOS config file and how to send it to multiple Thin Clients. I want to know which is easier to implement, if BCU is supported on Thin Clients, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brian Embree

Desktop Support Specialist

Legacy Health System
