I have been testing this feature for a while and I can confirm the following:

- When the placement strategy is set to "Failover", the VM won't be moved from a host under normal operation. If the host is placed in Maintenance mode, the VM will be moved and it will be placed back into the host after the host gets out of maintenance mode, you just have to wait a while for the task to start (10-15 minutes). If the Host fails, the VM will be restarted in a different node and it will be moved back after the host comes back online

- When placement strategy is set to "Pinned", the VM won't be moved under normal operation. If you try to place the host in Maintenance mode, you won't be allowed and a message will be displayed stating that a VM is pinned and you won't be able to continue. If the host fails, the VM won't be restarted in a different node and it won't be automatically restarted when the host comes back online.
