Hi,

i'm currently evaluation HP-VME as potetial new hypervisor for replacing VMWare with the 60 day trial. Creation of new W2K19 instance on VME was successfully but may testmigration failed. The migration job runs for ever but on the instance provisioning the creation of the targed instance shows the error:

Error Defining VM via libvirt: error: Failed to define domain from /var/morpheus/kvm/vms/srv-op01/srv-op01.xml error: XML error: target 'sda' duplicated for disk sources '/vme144-local/srv-op01/hvm_15-disk-0' and '/vme144-local/srv-op01/hvm_15-disk-1'

booth discs from the source server will be mapped to 'sda' in the xml file. i don't know why. I know Wk19 is not the supported version but i have the feeling thats more related to the vmware machine config.

Source is VMware 8 . The server has two scsi contoller : Boot/OS LSI Logic Data: VMware Paravirtuell.

Maybe someone has already the same expiriance .

Hello PeterK1,

which is the edition that you use? The problem is that is the :X if is overlapping with the prev. controller, it will create this issue. It should be solved in the 8.0.11. You can workaround it by putting on the 2nd controller the disk to 1:1 for example if the first controller use only 0:0.

thanks for your answer :-). I'm using current the 8.010. And i can confirm, putting the disc's to different ID's (:X) solve this issue and i was able to migrate the server :-).
