Hi,

Just starting out with the product, and when I load Morpheus, I notice it only has 2.9 GiB of memory, but the system it is running on has 188.8 GiB. What is the easiest way to allocate more memory? Thanks,

Hello,

Morpheus does not automatically use all the memory available on the system. What I recommend is the following:

Shut down the Morpheus VM
Edit the VM configuration from the hypervisor
Increase the allocated memory (for example 8 GB, 16 GB, or more, depending on usage)
Power the VM back on

Morpheus will automatically recognize the additional memory after restart.

It’s also good to keep these general sizing guidelines in mind:

Lab / testing environments: 8–16 GB
Small production environments: 32 GB
Medium to large production environments: 64 GB or more

Thanks for the reply, but this was done by loading the HVM_Install_24.04_S5Q83-11056.iso, which includes Ubuntu and KVM, and then installing the qcow2 file hpe-vm-essentials-8.1.0-1.qcow2, so I am struggling a bit to see how to change this.

Under administration and health system memory is now at 70% after loading it as a large instance

Hello,

In general, that memory usage value is normal. After the system is installed, memory is used for cache and various internal services, which is expected behavior and not a problem—the platform is designed to work this way.

It is still a good practice to monitor the system health status, paying particular attention to:

Excessive swap usage
Any memory-related errors

As long as those conditions are not present, the current memory usage is healthy.
