Creating a VME Cluster.

I am having issues creating a VME Cluster.

We currently have a running VMware cluster and have removed a couple of hosts to test HPE VME.

All of our hosts have two network adapters with two SFP+ ports each. On the switches, the ports connected to the servers are configured only with tagged VLANs, meaning there are no untagged VLANs assigned to the ports.

The following configuration is set up on the VME hosts:

Network Card 1

ens1f0np0
ens1f1np1

Network Card 2

ens2f0np0
ens2f1np1

Bond0

ens1f0np0
ens2f0np0

VLAN A

Bond0.A

A static IP address is configured on Bond0.A. Naturally, I am unable to get any traffic on Bond0 itself. I have also tried using DHCP.

I am running the latest version of HVM 1.3.

Configuration:

Management Net Interface: Bond0.A
Compute Net Interface: Bond0
Compute VLANs: VLAN A

When I use this configuration, the cluster creation process does not complete. No error message is displayed, and the wizard simply returns to the initial cluster creation screen.

At this point, I am stuck and unsure how to proceed.

En HPE VME, tanto la red de gestión como la de cálculo suelen requerir interfaces VLAN configuradas correctamente con IPs, no el bond en bruto. Try assigning the compute network to its VLAN interface instead of directly to Bond0 and make sure that the switch ports allow those VLANs to pass tagged traffic. Esto debería permitir que el asistente complete la configuración del clúster.

I believe I’ve solved it. I was using version 9.0 of VME Manager, where it failed. However, I reverted to version 8.11, and it went through successfully on the first attempt.
