I think we should start hosting Microsoft forum congratulatory threads here. I would like to congratulate Donal (http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/publicProfile.do?userId=BR709037&forumId=1)
on his new hat. I recently had the pleasure of working with him briefly. I loved his bulldog-like tenacity.

Roger, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I think it is nice when a high-ranking Forum member authors the congrat thread.

I believe your link picked up the close parenthesis as part of the link. Here is the revised link:

I know the issue of where to post congrat threads has been debated to death in HPUX-General. When I author a congrat thread, I post it in the Forum where the graduate is most active. (It's always nice when the guest of honor actually shows up at the party!)

Thanks for the help with that link (and for your kind words).
I don't know why but I suddenly feel very strongly about posting congrats in the Microsoft/General forum (as you said, for people who earn the preponderance of their points here). Hopefully more people will voice their feelings on the matter here. I can't imagine that Dan and his crew care one way or the other. If they do, I 'spose we'll be hearing from them as well. ;-)

Uh-oh! That looks like a shiny new mortar-board that Ronald is sporting. Perhaps someone can start a congrats thread for Ronald. I am out the door (running late for my new job) or I'd do it right now.
Congrats Ronald. It's great to see the "across the pond" contingent getting more recognition (Donal is from the UK and Ronald from the Netherlands).

It's nice to see messages from many prople from whom I've learned a great deal over the last couple of years and it's particularly nice to have this initiated by Roger who has to be one of the best adverts for how these forums should work - shares his in-depth knowledge willingly and is helpful (as I have found myself) even with the most basic (for which read inane!) of questions.
