Hello

I have a new PC with Windows ME and want to use a Scanjet 5P SCSI. Now, HP recommends a Avansys fast SCSI card but I had a Adaptec 2904CD (same as 2906) lying around. I used Deskscan II v.2.9 + the HP patch for ME. But while running the patch it stops, doesn't do anything. As I undertstand it the Scanjet has an internal terminator. Can anyone help. Apadtec can't tell me if the 2904CD is ASPI or CAM standard compliant.

A.G.,

Did you make the ScanJet 5p work with Adaptec 2904 in Windows ME? If you did, I'm interested in knowing how.

I am using Symbios Logic 53C416 SCSI card that came with the scanner. It works with the latest Precision Scan software but I would rather have it connected to the Adaptec card.

Thanks and regards,

Val
