Well, I have tried the solutions in both threads and it caused an unbootable system :-(. I've managed to get it back to its previous level and now I'll just live with it the way it is.

I am trying to use my laptop with a video capture device, but the software for the device indicates that the video driver is too old.

I have downloaded the latest softpaq from the website for the graphics driver (SP30791) which claims to be the 8.003... driver. However when I install the softpaq and reboot the driver is still the 6.14.10.6430 driver from the older softpaq.

How can I get the newer driver and is there a driver even newer than the one listed on the website?

Hi David,

Its most likley you need to remove the old graphics driver first before installing the new one. As a guide go here http://www.playtool.com/pages/uninstallgraphics/uninstall.html
The instructions on this site is for all versions of Windows so you should find the info you need (as long as you ARE using Windows ;-)

HTH Eddie
