CD-Writer Plus 7200 and Windows 2000

I have a CD-Writer Plus 7200 installed and Windows 2000 recognise it without
any problems. But now I tried to install the software (HP SureStore PN:
C4380-18000) which I was shipped with the CD-Writer. This softwarepack contains
all the programs I need to burn CD's. But the setup-program does not recognise
my CD-Writer. Where's the problem? Is it Windows 2000 or is it the CD-Writer
software?

I'm not sure exactly what software comes with the 7100, but my guess is you're
trying to use DIRECT CD. I personally have not had good luck with this
software in W2K, and don't really like it in general. You could try EZCD
Creator instead, which I think also comes with it. I am currently using CDRWIN
with no problems whatsoever, and I believe it supports the 7100.

The SureStore software installs Adobe Acrobat 3.0 by default and there is
apparently no way to prevent it. I have a later version of Acrobat reader
instlled on my machine and do not want these redundant files installed. I also
do not want my registry changed to point to the older version of Acrobat. Is
there any way to install the documentation while not installing Acrobat?
