Paint program, proformed illegal action and will not open

I as using my paint program in the start up menu, undr accessories. After I
finished I tried to leave and it gave me a message that it has proformed an
illegal action. It will not reopen. I have tried to shut my pc down and it
still want let me in. It says. MSPAONT caused and invalid page fault in
module MFC42.DLL aT 0167:5f40ea88.

PLEASE HELP ME. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT I CAN DO TO RESTORE MY PAINT
PROGRAM PLEASE EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW. I AM NEW AT THIS AND I HAVE NO IDEA
HOW TO RESTORE IT. HELP!!!!

I have the same problem. Any resolution?

Tom,

Here's a link that should get your mspaint issue resolved.

It basically involves removing mspaint, removing a registry entry and rebooting, then installing mspaint again.

Hope this gets it going for you.

go to programs,acessories,system tools,system information tools registry checker If any of the files have been corrupted or changed this should tell you have your win disk handy in case it tells you to reload the file that is corrupted
