The 6306 was slowing down so I decided to defragment the drive after 18 months of use. The Operation starts and stops after approx 1% and restarts aver and over. Am I doing something stupid or do I ahve a problem?

I am not familiar with the "6306", but as a general rule if something accesses the disk the defrag starts over. Kill all apps including your virus scanner and try again.

Hello Mike,

Also, stop your screen saver. An active screen saver is an 'app' that will kill a disk defrag.
