Let me start by saying we have just flashed the BIOS, and verfied the reginal settings, since these were the first answers I found on a google search.

The problem is on a clean install of Windows 2008 R2, on a DL 380 G5 server, with all current critical updates, we installed Hypervisor. But when we try to build a new virtual machine, we get the following error:

'Hypervisor' driver required by the Virtual Machine Management service is not installed or is disabled. Check your settings or try reinstalling the Hyper-V role.

We have verified that Hyper-V is enabled in Bios. The Bios is flashed to the 9/2009 update.

The DL380 G5 has the needed technology.
All the services (3) say they are running, but you can't actually launch a virtual machine, without that error.

Any input would be Appeciated.
-Stephen-
Firewire was on, so I turned it off.
Problem Persists.

Rebooted, but problem persists.

ran the following, which I found on the MS technet website:

netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="Remote Volume Management" new enable=yes

That was the Problem. The second BIOS Setting. I even looked it over, and pressed F1 on that item, but it did not say anything about being related to Hyper-V Technology.

The problem is now solved. We will make a note of this setting for HP servers.

Thanks.
-Stephen-
