Hyper-V in a DL360 G4

I'm pretty sure that I am out of luck here, but wanted to post just in case. I purchased a used DL360 G4 and installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on it. Runs like a champ. I really wanted to make this a hyper-v server, but can't install the role. Reading some of the support articles here, it seems to indicate that hyper-v isn't supported on the G4 - looks like G5 is the minimum.

Can anyone confirm this, or let me know if there is any way to enable hyper-v on this server?

You can install Hyper-V only if your G4 had 3.2GHz CPU
Earlier G4 have CPU without VT option

Thanks for the responses thus far. The server has 2 Xeon 3.4Ghz processors. Not the 3.2Ghz mentioned previously.

I don't see any options in the BIOS setup to enable virtualization, though. I believe I'm running the P52 version of the BIOS.

Should the 3.4Ghz procs support Hyper-V?

I did mistake in my previous post
I checked now our DL360 G4, it is 3.2 GHz CPU and it doesn't have option to enable VT
I checked more and it seems that VT option available only from G5
BTW, P52 is name of BIOS family, the BIOS version must be 2007.07.16 (and not 2006.02.14)

Thanks for the quick response. I was afraid that was the answer.

Should I be able to swap out the 2 processors - jut purchase 2 G5 processors, and upgrade the server?

If so - what are the specs, model number, etc. that I need to look for? is it as simple as searching for a "G5 processor"?

It is not simple
AFAIK, you cannot use G5 CPU in G4 - G5 use 5xxx series CPU and you cannot install them in G4
And even if it was possible - BIOS is different, and you will not have VT option in G4 BIOS
