Windows 2008 R2 on DL385 G1

Hello

Does anyone know status on whether it is supposed to be possible to run Windows 2008 R2 on DL385 G1.

Since from what I can find, the PSP 8.30 does not contain any iLO management driver so the Insight Agents cannot be installed and then all monitoring fails.

I have tried finding an iLO mgmt driver from HP's PSP download site but can only find the driver for iLO2.

Windows 2008 x64 has an iLO driver as well as iLO2, but Windows 2008 R2 only has iLO2, or else I can't find it.

According to these links, you must use PSP 8.30 for R2 but there is no 'support' for DL385 G1. See for yourself. Maybe you can install Windows Server 2008 x64 (supported) and then upgrade to R2?

Yes, well, I was hoping to avoid having to do one install and then one upgrade just to get the simple little iLO driver... :)

Guess I'll try HP support too and otherwise it's out with G1. Still thanks anyway.

Did you ever get anywhere on this? Just come across the same issue.
It does show up in the VCA but with a very limited number of components.
The G1's are not that old. Seems the built-in obsolescence catches up even quicker nowadays.
