Installing Windows Server 2008 R2 on ML110 G5 CD/DVD Driver required

We have a ML110 G5 with two 250 GB discs (previously running WindowsServer 2003) mirrored by the embedded SATA RAID. There is an HP DVD reader connected to a SATA port. We are trying to build a test/training server using Windows Server 2008 R2 downloaded from our Microsoft Action Pack.

The language selection sceen comes up and then the 'Install' button. clicking this gets a driver installation screen that says "a required CD/DVD driver is missing..." and we cannot proceed.

We have tried:

using a usb dvd drive
using a usb DVD drive with the internal DVD disconnected
copying the install onto a bootable 4GB usb thumb drive and booting the install from that

All with the same result. - has anybody any experience of this?

Hi,

1. The img you downloaded might be corrupt, try re-downloading it.

2. Check if its burnt properly to the DVD.

Have done several dowloads and also tried an old Microsoft (MAPS) issued Windows 2008 Server disk. It works for 32 bit but not 64. Interesting it builds perferectly with Small Business Server 2011 (=64bit) - it just asks for drivers for the embdded RAID controller.

Please download the 64 bit drivers from

When installation asks for drivers give the pathwhere you downloaded the drivers.
