I have exactly the same problem with a DL380 g4, I have upgraded all drivers to 8.30 and all firmware to 8.60 with no joy. I would be very interested to find a solution. I understand its only a problem with the upgrade and not with a clean install but as this is a certificate authority an in place upgrade would be so much easier :)

I have a Proliant DL360 G4 that I am trying to complete an inplace upgrade from Windows Server 2003 to Server 2008.

Setup starts fine, but after the reboot it hangs on the Loading screen. I tried Safe Mode and the last driver to load is crcdisk.sys.

Any suggestions how to get past this error?

I have updated all the drivers to PSP 8.25

I had the same problem.
Resolved it by deleting driver lsicsb6.sys from %systemroot%\system32\drivers (needed to boot from win2008 install cd for this)
