For some reason when I install a HP 5si printer with the MX PS drivers on a LAN (Novell print server / queue), I have a problem getting to the properties page of the printer when I am accessing it through any application. For example, when I am in Word, click on FILE > PRINT, then click on the properties button to the right, it never opens the properties page. I can get to it through control panel, etc ... just not through the application.

Any idea's? Also, if I install the 5si MX PS driver as a LOCAL printer, it works fine. The problem is only over the LAN with a 5si MX PostScript driver installed. HELP!!

Bob
BCR@NRC.GOV

Bob:

If you haven't already done so, try the latest Netware Client for WINXP (v4.83 w/SP1 dated 8/6/2002).

Also, make sure you have the latest PS driver (v02.12.01, lj632en.exe) for WINXP from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNum=C3167A&prodName=hp+LaserJet+5si+mx+printer&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=25478#Microsoft%20Windows%20XP

Hope this helps.

Roger

Thanks for the replies - I DO have the newest Novell client installed and the newest HP drivers also. It is a very strange situation. Novell connectivity is fine in every other way, I just cant get to the printer properties in that specific way. I thought it could be a XP SP1 issue, but I tried it without the SP and it still had the problem.

Bob
