Install NT on Pavilion 8240

Help!!! any body know how to install MS-NT server onto
a Pavilion 8240 with PCI network card. All the PCI bus are not registering
with NT-Resources IRQ at all.

It looks like your are not the only one who have trouble with WNT and Pavilion
8240. Another guy could not access his sound card and modem after installing
WNT.

I think that HP should look into this issues and come with a proper answer.

I recently installed NT on my Pavilion 8240 and I've been trying to get the
sound card and modem working ever since.

I have the same problem on a Pavilion 6553. Support wasn't any help nor were
any of the tech web pages aside from this forum.

The 8240 uses an LT Win Modem. This Lucent modem does not support Windows NT
period. No drivers are available. I don't know about the sound card but I would
suspect the same thing. By using devices that are only supported in Win 95/98,
HP and other assemblers can lower production costs on their systems.

We are running into the same problem with the 4550Z with the PCI network
adapter. It refuses to work with this adapter.
