    <description>you can either ftp to it from somewhere (including from the same machine) or you can telnet to port 21, as the ftp daemon understands telnet also.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Otherwise, I don't understand your question.</description>

Start -&amp;gt; Control Panel -&amp;gt; Administrative Tools -&amp;gt; Services.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;are you transfering large files through ftp??&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks &amp;amp; Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Sri&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Jack,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You need to make sure that both the IIS and FTP services are running, Sritharan gave the instructions on that above.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can test connectivity right on the W2K server by doing an FTP to itself in a command prompt.  If that fails you know the issue is internal, if it succeeds then you likely have a network issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jim&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>sorry! I should describe my question more clear.&lt;BR /&gt;I have a Unix box,and some files will need to ftp from Unix to win2k machine.&lt;BR /&gt;How can I make sure the ftp service is ok,then I do the batch job from Unix to ftp to win2k machine.&lt;BR /&gt;This is job will be a batch job.&lt;BR /&gt;So,if ftp service is disable on win2k machine,I will stop ftp to win2k machine.&lt;BR /&gt;So,How can I make sure the ftp service status?&lt;BR /&gt;thanks&lt;BR /&gt;   Jack</description>
