installing Wiondows XP HELP!!!!

hi all

I have really big problems installing windows XP on my HP computer

1st I deleted the NTSC partitions

then I create new partition and formated to create FAT32 system

after formating

I puted the Windows XP on CD-RW drive , rebooted my computer but windows wont boot
I have no idea how to fix this problem any help will be very apperciated

Hi there.
First check, whether you can boot from CDROM.
( to be set in BIOS as first boot device, but don't forget to set back ).
Then you should be able to boot from your XP CDROM.
If that does not work, try this :
boot from a Win98 CD ( start computer with cdrom support ).
on CDROM go to directory x:\win98.
run smartdrv.exe to create a smartdrive.
Replace Win98 CD with XP cd.
go to directory \i386 and start winnt or setup
( don't know at the moment ).

the problem is when I press the key [delete]
nothing happens and I cant enter on BIOS , I this HP computers disable this option or set another option to enter to BIOS .

I will try with win 98 but what I write to launch winXP at directory \i386 ?

I see you have multiple threads going on this problem. Tell us what model PC you have and perhaps we can figure out how to get into the BIOS setup program.

F2
DEL

To be pressed directly after the memory test.
