can i disable onboard audio on hp 541c. i want to install soundblaster pci 128 for 4 surround sound speakers.

On installing your PCI card, your BIOS will auton unable to internal sound function...

Its Better Disable On Board Audio, Before You Install the New Sound card (U can go to Bios by Pressing "F2" when i initially switch on the PC and when u see HP Logo), because chances are there of the System may Give Conflicts

what you want to do is start the computer up and tap F1 at the blue hp invent screen which will allow you to enter the BIOS. Next you want to use the arrow keys and move over to "Advanced Options" at the top of the screen. Then all the way down to the bottom for "On-Board Audio Options", you'll hit enter once that's hightlighted and then you should be able to see the enable/disable options.
