Registry/Configuration Error

When I attempt to startup my MX50 with built-in Microsoft Millenium Edition, I get the following screen:

Microsoft Windows Millenium Startup Menu
1. Normal
2. Logged (\bootlog.txt)
3. Safe Mode
4. Step-by-step confirmation
5. Command prompt
6. Safe Mode
Windows has documented a registry/configuration error. Use SCANREG to correct this error.

Any suggestions to get past this would be greatly and sincerely appreciated.

Ummm.....Select 1 for normal startup? What happens then?

Nothing happens regardless of the numbers pressed. The monitor simply blanks and returns with the same menu.
