Compaq nx7000 CD/DVD unit not working

Hi,
Yesterday I uninstall Roxio and, what a surprise, today I have no CD/DVD unit on "My Computer"
I uninstalled the unit and reinstalled the drivers, just to keep receiving this message:

Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device.
This is a legacy root service that didn't create a device object. Reinstall the device.

I have the same problem with an external DVD300e writer.
