I haven't seen any OCR functionality built into Word 2000, so you would need
additional software.

Some HP Scanner packages come with OCR software, usually in a "lite" version,
so check your bundled software. I can't officially recommend a specific
program, but personally I've had good luck with Omnipage Pro (from Caere
software).

I have a HP 5200 scanner. I would like to scan documents into office 2000 where
hopefully I could edit and save the documents. If this is pratical what would
the best procedure to follow? Do I need any other software? Your's truly, bill
at wjmx@interpath.com
