Penny:

There are ~400 Deskpro models. You'll get more response if you post the exact model. Look for a printed label somewhere on the case (don't forget to check the bottom). On some machines, the label is in the CD tray.

HTH

Make a great day!

Roger

I'm not sure about the model. I looked for a sticker, but it's been scraped to the point I can't see the writing. On the top of the computer is a sticker with the following information:

DPEND-P400/6.4/W5C US
Compaq Serial No: 6922 BW42 G003

I received this computer from a family member and they don't remember what model it was specifically.

It is a Pentium II with Windows NT 4.0/98 factory installed.

Does that help?

Sorry I can't be more clear.

I wish I could edit the points allotted to a response. The person who sent me the link to the Compaq manual should have got 8.5 points. I found the proper information on how to open the case. Now I have a new problem. The instructions refer to something called the "Smart Cover Lock" and I can't find where to check if this is activated. I know I'm being a pain, but this is really starting to bug me.

Thanks again for all your help.
