    <description>If you're using a WINS server, you can enter static entries for the alias.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In DNS you can have multiple A records.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can have a common lmhosts file that gets loaded at boot time through an include statement in the local lmhosts file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;102725&amp;amp;Product=win2000" target="_blank"&gt;http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;102725&amp;amp;Product=win2000&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Just a few ideas.  :-)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jon</description>

      <description>Dear All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For a project requirement we need to set alias hostnames. How can i go about in doing the same.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I need to connect to the machine using the alias name (ie: when i type \\aliasname in run menu, i should ne able to connect to the machine)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;BR /&gt;Jagadesh</description>

      <description>I tried adding an entry in&lt;BR /&gt;c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;when i ping the alias name it is pinging, but when i use the alias name from other machine to connect the same is not connecting. Iam getting the following error&lt;BR /&gt;"Network path was not found"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Jagadesh&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
