Hard drive upgrade

I upgraded my hard drive and now the notebook does not turn on. I also put the old one back but nothing.

Try with no hard drive to see if it turns on power.

I tried with no hard drive and it is the same, nothing happens. When I put the battery in I do not get a light, only with the power plug. Here I get the light that the power is external.

Does the laptop boot with the hdd in, battery out, and external power in?

If yes, then try...

HDD in, battery in and external power out. If it doesn't boot, then its the battery.
