      <title>i need backup help!</title>

      <description>I recently made the bonehead mistake of losing everything on my computer, it was totally wiped out.  i tried reloading windows, but never got an hp backup disk for my computer.  can this be downloaded online?</description>

      <description>Try to use an Unformat utility, I have used one from Symantec this was five years ago and it worked.&lt;BR /&gt;Maybe you will find one from another vendor as well.&lt;BR /&gt;Good luck.</description>

      <description>Some of the HP's have a seperate partition to store the recovery data.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If that is gone and you can not recover the data as per the previous posts suggestion, then a new FULL version of the OS would be the next step.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There are FULL legal versions of XP on the internet for about $115. These are OEM copies and you will not get help from Microsoft. That is why they are so cheap. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Again make sure it is a FULL version and not an UPGRADE. FULL will allow you to load on an empty hard drive were upgrade will not.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also note that the HOME version is cheaper due to rumor that MS will not support soon after vista is released. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Rich &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Rich</description>
