I have an HP Pavilion zx5000 which is running on XP Home. To connect to the internet I have been using a cable modem. Since this last Sunday ever time I've attempted to connect to the I've got this message

error 680: There was no dial tone

To fix this problem I've tried:

1. Checked my phone to see if it had a dial tone. It did.
2. Checked my phone cord to see if was healthy. Even used it on the phone and the phone still worked.
3. I've uninstalled and reinstalled my modem drivers.

And now I'm at a total lost as to what next. If anyone can help that would be wonderful!

Thanks,
Mad

Hi Mad

I don't know if that's the same issue a had a few time ago, but uncheck the box in connection properties that request to wait for the dial tone.

Good luck
Jorge
