I´m formating the hd, and need to recovery.

I can highly recommend 'CG Security TestDisk' (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk) which did an excellent job for me recently, recovering the contents of a failed external Lacie drive.

It's *completely free*, even to perform the recovery; unlike most other recovery tools which will *tell you* what can be recovered, but want to extract $$$ from you for the pleasure of actually doing so!

I can also recommend CG Security's "PhotoRec" (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec) for recovering photos from storage cards etc.

both GetDataBack and ontrack data recovery (http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/file-recovery-software/) have, in the past, work great for me.
