Ron -- When you set up the printer on one system, are you using the DLC protocol or are you using TCP/IP?

If using the DLC protocol, there is an ability to set the printer up "exclusively" for a single device. However, you can turn this off.

I am setting up a lab with 20 PC's (Win2000)with two HP 4050N printers, I can only get one printer to print - I am not using a server, I have a workgroup and the printer is attached directly to the workgroup network!! I have jet Admin on all the machines but it will not pick up the printer?? Should I be using an IP address or Jet-Direct with a hardware number??

Thanks for the Help!!

Ron

Ron -- print out a configuration page from both printers. Make sure you don't get any errors or see any major differences on the printer that isn't working.

Try a different network cable ... preferrably the one from the printer that is working or another workstation. Can you see the printer now?
