    <description>yes;i had some spreadsheets and invoice templates sent to me that i could'nt open because i did'nt have microsoft office or excel.so i downloaded a trial version of excel 2007,which is about to expire.now i am wondering ,if i get office excel 2003 ,should it open these ok if office excel 2007 did?office excel 2007 is very expensive so i am trying to find a cheaper alternative to open and change data and print the invoices and spreadsheets.any help?thanks</description>

      <description>You have to save your Excel 2007 workbook as an Excel 97-2003 workbook - &lt;BR /&gt;Office Button/Save As/Excel 97-2003 Workbook. If you use the features of &lt;BR /&gt;Excel 2007 that are not present in Excel 2003 you will have &lt;BR /&gt;incompatibilities. Excel will tell you if you have problems when it saves &lt;BR /&gt;the file. Just don't use things in Excel 2007 that are not in Excel 2003 and &lt;BR /&gt;you should be fine. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Another option is installing the Office 2007 compatibility pack on the oddice 2003 &lt;BR /&gt;machine. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE..." target="_blank"&gt;http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE...&lt;/A&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;I have office 2007. Excel files are saved as "*.XLSX"  instead of the normal "*.XLS"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I also have OpenOffice, It does not recognizes the .xlsx files.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards.</description>

      <description>Update:&lt;BR /&gt;OpenOffice is planning to release updates which will be compatible with Office 2007.&lt;BR /&gt;The Current one is not compatible for sure.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards.</description>
