topic Built in USB 2.0 camera not working properly in Operating System - Microsoft

I bought an HP Touchmart IQ770 this fall. Up until recently I haven't made much use of the built in webcam. I noticed lately, though, that it doesn't work 3/4 of the times I try and use it. I till tell me that it is either not plugged in, or in use by another program. This is happening in Windows Live Messenger mostly but I have checked it in Muvee Autoproducer and I get the same message.
