NX6120: Hangs suddenly when power supply is connected

Hi Friends,

On battery my compaq nx6120 works fine but when i connect it to power supply it hangs all of a sudden. i just see some arbit pop-ups on the screen and computer shuts down automatically. i have not experienced this in battery mode yet. i did a mcafee latest virus scan and it did not find anything. please suggest what to do

did u see any heating issue?
did u check on hp.com below?

check if u can troubleshoot with batter or PS

It may be adapter issue if u can check with diff adapter?

yes there is tremendous heating.
i tried using another laptop charger and the problem still persists.

there are some heating issues with these models. if u see below:

ur issue is something to do with battery and PS.
May be else in thread can give better answer to ur specific issue!!
