I've misplaced my recovery disk for my computer Compaq Pressario SR2017CL, Prod #RE471AA S/N CNH63809YY could you provide me with the recovery installationCDs? I tried a recovery disk that I thought wa for this computer, however, I believe that it's not the correct one in that it restored to winXP Home. One of the problems I am having with my machine is that once I restored the OS I'm unable to connect to the internet. My ethernet card shows up as 1394. I was told by tech support before to install the chipset driver which I did but that put me back to a situation whereby I get only a blue screen after the windows splash screen loads. I think if I have the correct restore CDs that would resolve my problems.

It looks like you're using the incorrect drivers which were included with the incorrect restore cd that you used. HP will overnight you restore cd's for your computer if you call them. They cost around $20.
