topic Adding dual processors in Operating System - Microsoft

I have Terminal Server installed on a HP Vectra XU 6/200 server. I have
installed another processor. The bios sees the the processor, however, Terminal
Server does not. Is there a utility that will allow Terminal Server to
recognize the additional processor or will I have to re-install it?

Hi tyrome,

After installing another processor you need to register it with the OS. There
is a tool in the resource kit that does the job (although I have heard of
problems with it), and if you don't have the resource kit, you will need to
reinstall the OS.

UPTOMP is the Resource Kit utility that should be used when adding a second
processor. Make sure you follow the instructions step-by-step.

Tyrome-

You don't 'need' the uptomp.exe utility in the resource kit. You can actually
just follow the steps by Microsoft listed @ their website.

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q156/3/58.asp

Make sure you backup your rdisk first! :)

Vincenzo
