    <description>The usual case is a corrupt file somewhere.  Perform a chkdsk to validate the disk(s).</description>

      <title>defrag/scan disk freeze-up</title>

      <description>I have just today(11-07-00)started to have problems when I use either the scan disk, or the defrag programs. They both are freezing up. I haven't had any problems in the past. What could have changed? What can I do to correct the problems????? I have to shut down/restart my computer to be able to do any thing else. I have an HP Pavilion 4453 that aprox 18 mos old.
