After literally hours of trying every thing short of reinstalling windows, two chat sessions with hp tech support with no luck at all I found this forum. Removing the battery and disconnected the ac power waiting 2 minutes then booting up worked. The quick launch buttons work again with the exception of the hp mediasmart quick launch button. Sense all the other buttons work now it seems it must be setting in the mediasmart smartmenu driver software but there are no preference settings I can find. I wondered if any one else had this problem.
