Remote Snapshotting

Is it possible to remote snapshot from a manaement group with SANs running 12.6 to a management group with SANs running 9.5? Or will I run into a compatibalty issues with the differnt LefthandOS versions?

Hi Jeff-J,

Yes you can with a little work. 12.6 can send remote snapshots to 9.5 after you install patch 10059-12 on the 9.5 system. This has to be done in support mode.

Close the CMC. Add theses two lines to C:\users\<username>\.storage_system\preferences.txt.

CmcUpgradePreference.useOldUpgrades=true

CmcSystemPreference.supportMode=true

Start the CMC. It should be all yellow.

Click on Configuration Summary. Select the Support Upgrades tab. Browse to select patch 10059-12

C:\Program Files (x86)\HPE\StoreVirtual\UI\downloads\10059-12.12.6.00.0155.patch

and select your 9.5 system. Click Install. See the attached screen shot. No reboot necessary.

Restart the CMC to get rid of the yellow. You should be able to create remote snapshots to the 9.5 system now.
