Network RAID Storevirtual 3200. Disable

Hello,

Is possible to disable Network RAID in Storevirtual 3200?. I will use Multi-site strech cluster (Synchronous Replication) with 2 nodes and I don't want use Network RAID for save storage.

Hi Romancos,

Are you suggesting using NR0 rather than NR10? We do not recommend using NR0 with multi-site synchronous replication. There is no point in creating a multi-site configuration if you use NR0 because your storage will become unavailable if a site goes down. What are you trying to do?

What do you mean by "2 nodes"? The 3200 is a dual controller array. You cant do a stretched cluster with a single 3200.

NetworkRaid is configurable at a volume level, on or off. But to do a multisite stretched cluster, you need two StoreVirtual 3200 systems, the advanced data services license, and then I'm pretty sure you would use NR10. Without NR10, you can't have a multisite stretched cluster. You could do remote copy, but that's not a stretched cluster. Hi Stor_Mort, thanks for your reply.

Really I want to create NR10 with 2 SV3200 systems. No NR0 or NR1 with only one SV3200 systems.

We will go to migrate 2 P4000 systems in NR10 to 2 SV3200 systems. But in SV3200 we can't do NR10 between SV3200 systems, only we can do NR0 or NR1 inside one SV3200.

We have OS 13.1 and I believe with OS 13.5 we will make the NR10 with 2 SV3200 systems. But we're not finding it anywhere.

Sorry, really we have 2 SV3200 systems.

We want to create a NR10 with this 2 SV3200 systems. If entire systems fail, data are still accesible.

Inside each systems we have 7 SSD disk and 10 SAS disk. We want build 1 RAID 6 with the 7 SSD disk and 1 RAID 6 with 10 SAS disk. And then make NR10 with 2 SV3200 systems. But with OS 13.1 is not possible. Only permit us build 2 RAID 5 with 3 SSD disk each one of them and 1 SSD disk on spare. And 2 RAID 6 with 6 SAS disk each one of them.

Is it possible to do what we need (Raid 6 and then NR10 with two systems)?. We hope yes with OS 13.5, but we didn't find it.

I just heard that 13.5 is delayed by a week. Try looking again after Mar. 8.
