HPE VSA latency when disk is in predictive failure

Hello,

I was wondering if I can some help from HPE community about an issue we are facing.

We have ESXi with HPE VSA.

Every time a HDD will become in predictive failure or will fail, we have a lot of latency on every Datastore located on VSA. Accessing the virtual machine is very difficult and VMware graph shows a lot of latency on Datastores. The only way to solve it (when we don't know yet wich disk is failing) is to shut down one of the VSA. If we have only one VSA up, we do not have anymore latency.

Both VSA are located on Production ESXi hosting Production VMs

We already opened a case on VMware's side, but as long as the HDD is not tag as failing and as long as there are no logs on VMware's side, they cannot help us and asked us to involve storage array vendor.

Can you help us to get the "why" about those latency ?

The hardware platform and network design used for a virtual storage pool affect the capacity, performance, and reliability of
that virtual storage pool. Usually a Drive failure will lead to Latency issues, however this might need an indepth analysis esp we might have to look into the Configuration. Hence request you to raise a Case with the Support.
