Hi,

I heard the firmware 9.30 is supported on p4300 nodes? I always tought that the CMC was the only option to install updates.

Is above correct?

There are 5 firmwares, that can be upgarded on any P4000 units.

RAID Controller

SystemBIOS

LO-100

Drive Backplane

Disk Drives

All these can be upgarded using the Smart Firmware DVD.

This would be an Offline process.

As of Now One Can Upgrade RAID Controller Firmware for P400 and P410 which are on P4000 G1 and G2 along with NSM2120 G2, through CMC as Patches.

SystemBIOS can be upgraded through CMC as well, but only for P4000 G2 as Patches.

Hopefully in future all the above 5 Firmwares may be patches using CMC.
