topic Applying Patches in StoreVirtual Storage

Hello,

When I attempt to apply a single patch using local media I do not see the .patch file in the downloads directory. (or any directory I put it in) How do I go about applying a single patch? Specifically I am looking to apply a patch to upgrade the VMware tools in the VSA. Will running in evaluation mode kill the ability to update and apply patches?

Thanks.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=co-91908-1&mode=4&idx=0#installation_instructions

Just bumping this. Does anyone have any feedback about applying patches locally through the CMC? Is it possible to apply a single patch?

Thanks.

Hi,

This is still possible but you need to do the following change:

1. Shutdown the CMC

2. Open \Users\[user]\.storage_system\preferences.txt

3. At the top of the file, add the following:

CmcSystemPreference.supportMode=true
CmcUpgradePreference.useOldUpgrades=true
CmcUpgradePreference.userUpgrade=true

4. Start CMC, under Configuration Summary there will now be a “Support Upgrades” tab.

It is important to add the lines to the top in step 3, otherwise the “Support Uprades” tab will not be available.

Kr,

Bart
