P4500 performance issue with multisite

Hello,

We have a 4-node P4500 cluster (single site) with good write performance : 220-230 MByte/s.

When we expand this cluster to a 8-node P4500 multi site (network raid 10, 4 node per site, 10GE interface,
no jumbo frame, flowcontol on, latency 0.1 ms, no congestion, no error, no drop, ...) perfomance drop to
90-100MByte/s.

Does anyone have a P4500 multisite network raid 10, with latency 0.1 ms (or more) and still good write performance ?

Hey, I got the exact same spec as you minus the 10GbE (for now).

What hosts are you connecting to the SAN? VMware / MS ? - what is the link speed and latency between the sites?

Hi,

After some test we decide to use Jumbo Frame (9000bytes). Now we have good performance (220-230 MBytes/s) .

So, if you have P4500 cluster in multisite with 10GE interface: configure Jumbo Frame.
