sounds like there is a problem with your installation of the app manager program on the host or you haven't configured the username/password correctly for it... or maybe try restarting that computer. Make sure the ports required are open through any firewalls and make sure your accounts are correct and then just check the logs.

I'm receiving the following error message when attempting to create an application managed snapshot:

"Error retrieving volume list from application server at X.X.X.X ILED: Connection to VC Server failed.

Object of type 'System.String' cannot be converted to type 'VimApi25.ManagedObjectReference'. "

This is using HP StoreVirtual CMC Version 10.5, with vCenter Server 5.5 acting as the managing server. vCenter is installed and running on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have configured the Pegasus CIM service with the same service account as described in other posts. That fixed a previous message of access denied. Anyone dealt with this message before?

sounds like a program problem. either restart the program, reinstall it, or contact support. It should (tm) work, so something in your setup is broken.

got the solution for my problem.

The Service for the Snapshoting Programm on the Vcenter Server was runing with local users.

This User has no access to the Vcenter so it cant do some Snapshots.

I have to change the User account to a local admin from the Vcenter. After that it was working very well.
