installing on server 2012 r2, at the end, it just fails with "the configuration vhd is not found in the dist list" while "verifiying the configuration vhd status"

which is weird, becuause after the wizard deploys the config.vhd, i can clearly see the mounted drive in the disk list

32GB free, pretty sure it doesn't need much more than that right? I do have some offline fiber channel disks, but I don't think that it would cause this issue, and looking through the logs, it's just throwing an system io

;log;

2014-07-15 11:01:28:030
Unpacking source VHD 'HVSA_Original.vhd'...

2014-07-15 11:01:28:030 Creating a folder C:\VM
2014-07-15 11:01:28:030 Looking for path C:\VM
2014-07-15 11:07:42:521 Exception encountered System.IO.IOException: There is not enough space on the disk.

 at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
 at System.IO.FileStream.WriteCore(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count)
 at Ionic.Zip.ZipEntry._ExtractOne(Stream output)
at Ionic.Zip.ZipEntry.InternalExtract(String baseDir, Stream outstream, String password)
at Configurator.ConfigVsa.UnpackVHD(ManagementScopeAccess managementScope, String vhdSourcePath, String vhdTargetPath, String vhdFile, UInt32 percentWeight)
 at Configurator.ConfigVsa.Deploy(String configXml, TrackIt progressDelegate)

2014-07-15 11:07:42:521 Exception: There is not enough space on the disk.

well the VHD for the OS for the VSA is exactly 32GB so if you have 32GB free space you really are running out of space. Back to the other drive, it sounds like a permission issue so just make sure the program has permissions and you should be able to install to that location.

dammit. thanks a ton. i wish hp said that somewhere in their documentation. now i have to go back to the datacenter, re-format and reconfig the raid 10 as 60GB/1TB

i thought 50GB partition for the OS would be enough. guess i was wrong

im directly attaching the physical partition to the VSA, so im force to deploy the VM on the OS partition

what OS are you using? If its windows, I wouldn't put an OS drive under 100GB. that **bleep** SxS folder is always growing and you really don't want to run out of space or really run the OS drive at >70% capacity anyway or you get performance degridation simply because of fragmentation problems.
