P4300 G2 OS upgrade fails with "upgrade package downloading" message

Hi,

I'm trying to update the OS on a P4300 G2 to current (12.0.00.0725) using the CMC. After many minutes during which the upgrade files are supposedly being copied to the P4300, the upgrade fails with the message:

"There is an upgrade package downloading on '<hostname>'. This must be complete before you can perform your upgrade. Wait 5 to 10 minutes and try your upgrade again. Canceling all further installations."

I have tried multiple times over the course of a couple of days. The most recent Upgrade Details content is below. The CMC states that the current software version on the P4300 system is 11.5.00.0673.0. There are no alarms.

Any suggestions?

Hi Martin,

I've had the same issue. The problem is one of the Linux partitions does not get flushed after a manadatory patch which gets installed before the OS upgrade.

The one and only solution, reboot ALL nodes in the cluster you want to upgrade (and I really mean all).

Afther that, it runs like a charm.
