Firmware update-VMware Custom ISO for HPE Server Gen9 and Gen8

We are going to install ESXi 6.5U2 to our HPE BL660c Gen9 and Gen8 servers. So I have downloaded Custom HPE ESXi Image from VMware download site. Does this image (ISO file) have Firmware updates for BL660c Gen9 and Gen8 servers and if yes, will it be automatically or manually installed during ESXi 6.5U2 installation? I know the image has drivers updates, but not sure about firmware.

If it doesn't have Firmware, do I need to download latest SPP or anything that contains latest Firmware and use it to update Firmware? Where will I find it?

Consider to use SPP2018.06 to update your firmware.

Custom Vendor-specific ISO is recommended for VMware upgrade. HPE custom image I downloaded from below link.

What I want to know is, does the image have all Firmware updates as well (I know it has updated drivers for VMware)?

I know the latest SPP has all Firmware and drivers, and in fact I downloaded a copy. But the HPE-VMware image, if it has all firmware updates, then I do not need to apply SPP.

The HPE Custom ESXi image does not include firmware updates. You will need to use the correct SPP if you want to update firmware.
