we have two node cluster of HPe Simpliivty and trying to update the esxi version from

VMware ESXi 6.5.0 build-15256549
VMware ESXi 6.5.0 Update 3

Q8A57-11086_hpe-esxi6.5u3ep18-15177306-650.U3.10.5.0.67-offline-bundle.zip

was run the below command but it's not updated the ESXi

esxcli system maintenanceMode set -e true
esxcli software vib update -d /vmfs/volumes/datastore-/Bundle/Q8A57-11086_hpe-esxi6.5u3ep18-15177306-650.U3.10.5.0.67-offline-bundle.zip

also does bundle need to download from HPE site or can we download from VMware as well?

Hi,

The version you are trying to upgrade to is ESXi 6.5 U3 EP18 (Q8A57-11086_hpe-esxi6.5u3ep18-15177306-650.U3.10.5.0.67-offline-bundle.zip).

The version you are trying to upgrade from is ESXi 6.5 U3 P04.

ESXi 6.5 U3 P04 is higher version than 6.5 U3 EP18, hence regression upgrade won't be allowed by ESXi unless forced.

Could you confirm the current and target version once again?
